This blog is an interactive place where you can share your writing with your classmates. The blog creates a great place for writing because it can easily be seen by other students in our class, and you can respond to your classmates' work, taking their ideas further. The blog format is meant to be less formal and more creative than the academic essays you write in class. This is where you can explore your voice as a writer, and take some risks with your style and ideas. Happy blogging!

Do things you dont want to do, so you can do things want to in the future
I wrote about the difference I played in a tournament and the steps I took to get there. The difference from not being prepared for something that asked a lot from your body and working your ass off for the results want to see.
I wrote about applying for a job at IKEA in East Palo Alto and how I wrote out a resume to show what type of person I am and what I can contribute. This was very effective for me because it helped me get the job and I met so many nice co-workers that I have learned so much from, teaching me how to improve my job for the benefit of myself and my manager.
Activity Assessment Reflection
A strategy that I found successful was explaining quotes, as it is useful in writing essays or anything involving quotes in my life. It could also be useful into becoming a better writer as you can can get more in depth to what the quote has to say.

Activity Assessment
I guess a constant strategy I use
is time management. Now I know everyone probably does that, but I couldn’t
really think of any other strategy I use. It always involves getting all my
homework done before I go and relax or something. There are a lot of moments where
I have to plan out what I could do today and what I could save for the next
day. I do this with all my courses and it’s quite easy to do because I don’t
have a job or anything like that so I could pour all my energy into my school
work.
In my reflection I wrote about improving my vocabulary when I wanted to stand up for myself against this arrogant boss that I had not too long ago. I would get really mad with myself because I wanted to tell him so many things but my lack of words in my english vocabulary made it hard. So I started to write down in a piece of paper my ideas on what I wanted to tell him, find the right words, make a paragraph study it. And the next day i will go to his office and express myself the way I intended to in the first pace. It work out great for some years.
In my reflection, I explain how doing my community service has made me a more understanding and open-minded person. I talked about how making someone else's day with the littlest thing makes the work worth my time and how I wouldn't expect something in return for doing good. I guess it helps me out as student because it gives me a bigger view of the world.
hi
I had to write about aliens in my astronomy class and we had to use the drakes equation to help us figure out if life other than humans existed. By doing this i honed my skills on writing and understanding a prompt.
Process Reflection: Activity Assessment
I decided to write about our debate that we did recently did in class regarding The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls. We were required to form an argument of whether Jeannette's parents should be guilty of neglect to the children if they were just perceived as harmless. At the same time, we had to integrate quotes into our debate and I found this very effective because integrating quotes gave our team additional support to strengthen our argument.
Activity Assessment Reflection:
I have found that annotating can be the best tool/strategy that can easily be applied to everyday activities. While training for my license in life-insurance policies I have found the content of the material to be difficult. The use of annotation has proven to be effective in understanding the material so I can pass my California State Exam. I also find it extremely useful in my profession as a bartender; we launch new menu items at least once a year. The more informative I am, the more confident I will be when upselling new items and this benefits myself by making more money in return!
Activity Assessment
A strategy or activity that I have found to be effective in not only class readings but other readings as well, is chewing over what I just read. Truly thinking about the text is a really good way of getting a full understanding of the main point and arguments that the writer is trying to express.
process reflection
I wrote my reflection about kindness in the working environment. This strategy was effective because kindness can be used anywhere like in a classroom with other classmates by helping them understand something they have difficulties with.
In my reflection I wrote about the process in which I adapted to living on my own. A test set up by my parents hoping to spark motivation in me and also learn the realities of life that I have grown arrogant about. Living on your own has definitely made me work harder in school in hope that my career path doesn't just end here working a minimum wage job for the rest of my life.
Activity Assessment Reflection
After writing your reflection on an activity you tried in or out of class, post 2-3 sentences describing what you wrote about and if it was successful or effective. If possible, include/upload a visual image depicting the activity in your post. Then comment on at least one other student's post, offering helpful feedback.

I really enjoyed seeing Jaym Orejola's new named " My Beautiful Struggle". The blog itself is very appealing and caught my eye the moment I looked at the screen. The layout is very accessible and easy to navigate, a simple up and down scrolling to view all the content. Now shifting onto the individuals essays, they seemed to be very interesting with proper format and organization, based off the two that I read.
After reviewing past 242A students class blogs I found a couple great ones and a couple not so great ones in my opinion.

Celina J. - I love her simplicity and how captivating her spirit was while prevalent in her writing. Her titles were eye-catching and pleasing to read. She put alot of herself out on the table as a writer and I respect her growth through the process not just as a writer but as a person as well. Her blog was clean and well-organized aiding in navigation of her page.
Olivia Tenzing - Her page was also well organized and very easy to navigate. The use of links were well placed and straight forward which in return was helpful in finding her works. Her writing was very narrative and fresh from the little bit I was able to scan through.
Dislikes
Jonathan Kuo - As soon as I clicked on his link my first reaction was chaos. The blog was very loud in a sense of confusion. His links were there but the use of his fonts made it all feel randomly placed which I felt left little room for my interest in his writings. The colors and lack of visuals make it unappealing in my opinion.
Matthew Shull - I felt his blog was very plain and lacked creativity. I feel that If he utilized visuals more it may have been more visually pleasing giving the reader an opportunity to be drawn into his writings rater than off putting by lack of interest.

The blog that i liked the most was Celina J's because she was very well organized with all of her writings and they all held a strong message within them. On the other hand the blog that i did not like was Jaym Arreola's because other than his writings being well written and thought out, the organization of his blogs and videos were mixed with one another which made it difficult to figure out the order of where things go.
One of my favorite blogposts was by Olivia Tenzing because her blog is very organized and clean. Her layout included tabs on the side and it was very easy to access and navigate. I also liked how she included additional fun interesting tabs like, "How to get an A" because it's beneficial for students that will be taking this course. She also had visuals and images that made it more fun to read her blog.
One of the blogs that I disliked was Randal Moore because it was hard to go to a specific section of his blog because there wasn't tabs on the side to navigate through. But otherwise, he had very good content and visuals.

Criticizing Blogs
The blog that catches my eyes the most is Jonathan Kuo's blog. I'm one of the those people who base her first impression of a website by visuals. The layout such as the colors, pictures, and videos makes me want to stay on the page longer to look around and read or observe the details. If the homepage of the blog looks bland with a long essay, it makes me want to exit out of the page which brings me to Kiet Vu's blog. The blog makes me not want to read any of the posts because it's too plain not to be rude or anything.
criticism towards blogs
I liked the blog of Celina J. because I like how she wrote a poem "hocus pocus" based on the words of her personal dictionary, I also liked Randal Moores' blog because all of his work was organized and seemed interesting to read about. I disliked Kiet Vu nothing "wowed" me about his blog, nothing impressed me, I also disliked Jaym Orejola because the topics he was writing about didn't make me want to be interested in reading his work.
CELINA JAVATE
I liked her blog the most because it was more organized and easy to get around too when finding resources. She added color to her blog which was interesting because it gives it a personality. The work that she had put in show how interesting the class and assignments can be.
MATHEW SHULL
I really disliked this post because I felt like it was all other place and not much organized. Although there was a neat background it also made it difficult to locate resources.
I really like the blog by Randal Moore. The snapshots and timeslides provide great details for understanding his blog.
Blog by Kiet Vu is not that bad. Even though it is easy to read, it is too rough and not well-prepared. It does not include any graphics to make it look more interesting and attractive for the readers to read it. On the other hand, Randal Moore's blog includes some great graphics and gives him a higher hand over Kiet Vu.

I liked the blogs by Celina Javate, and Randall Moore. They both had beautiful blogs. Celina's was very well organized and eye catching. Justin's was more on a deeper level. He had a very strong blog. The blog I did not enjoy so much was Keit Vui's blog. It was not very eye catching and it was pretty plain. All in all a very boring blog. He had relevant statements but nothing extra ordinary.
Jonathan had a good blog, I like how he divide up each section into there own separate area making it easier to read one by one. I didn't like the background he used, its distracts the reader from the main idea which is what he wrote. Also Jaym Orejola blog was well done because it was straight forward and well organize. I could see myself using this format for my blog.
Kiet Vu- i disliked his since the way he only had words in his blog was boring to me since i dont like to read at all. Also he didn't have any visuals that captivated my interest and that made me less interested in his work.
Celina Javate- I liked her blog since hers was nice and simple everything was organized and she had a lot of visuals that were interesting to me. She also had a video that is different and i like that since that didn't require reading, just listening.

Celina Javate's blog was extremely organized, visually appealing and had video responses which I believe captivate the viewer to read it and analyze it.
Randal Moore's blog covered interesting topics and his writing caught my eye with all the visuals he had, though his blog could have been more organized.
